Dudley Building Society

Darlington Building Society has been looking after the interests of local people since 1856 when, as the Darlington Working Men's Equitable Permanent Building Society, it was formed in Darlington to benefit the local community.

As a mutual organisation, they have no outside shareholders to pay dividends to so it can use its profits over time to provide more attractive interest rates to savers and borrowers, to build up capital strength for the protection of members' funds and to develop new products and services.

Darlington Building Society is dedicated to remaining a mutual independent building society providing benefits for the local community, local people and most of all providing benefits to the members of the Society. To ensure that the high standard of service expected by our members is not compromised, on 1 February 2000, the Society launched a Charitable Assignment Scheme.
